Dirty WHOers Podcast - Episode 22

Well, this one took a while. Sorry about that. We've been slack, well Sputters was, and should probably be punished. Suggestions welcome.

This time round, thanks to "The Wheel of Who", we take a look at The Dalek Invasion of Earth. Terry Nation's 6 part 1964 TV epic (not the movie with Grand Moff Tarkin and Wilfred Mott).

It's all good clean fun, until someone looses an eye.

Cool. I feel like I was at a Doctor Who: Podshock Meet Up on Second Life while listening. So many familiar voices.

I heard so much about Threads in the '80s and how much darker it was to the American television drama, The Day After (again from the '80s). I am not sure if I ever saw it though.

Not something you seek out though because of the subject matter. Sort of like the movie 'When the Wind Blows' - great music, but the subject matter is such a downer. I've only watched my laserdisc copy a few times. (Now I am dating myself).

Good show.

Cheers,
Louis

That was weird. I posted the previous comment using my Google login, but instead of going to my Google Profile page, it goes to their Blogger site which I don't have a profile.

Anyway, I assume you will know it is was me, but just in case, I figured I would post this one which should have my full name.

I'm with you on the Threads things, I saw it when it was on first time and as a 12 year old, I was convinced we were going to die in a Nuclear Holocaust. Looking back, the thing with Threads that was probably so devastating was that it showed what happened to everyday people and the decisions or movement behind it.
