Dirty WHOers Podcast - Episode 15

In a startlingly rare bout of competence, this one's ready early in the week (and dripping with the usual froth and nonsense). The usual diversions, news, reviews, and piss-taking. Thank god we don't have a swear box.

Mixed opinions on this one from the WHOers. We desperately try to stay on topic, but Sputters had had a few too many and Sen couldn't articulate any other word than 'Timeship'.

Please bear with us as we take a shufty at Series 31 episode 11, The Lodger, in which Gareth Roberts gives us the Doctor doing Men Behaving Badly, Spaced, This Life (or some other awkward flatshare drama thing) with that spherical bloke from Gavin and Stacey.

Hey, was that tune he was singin' in the bath is the same one he sang in the shower in Spearhead From Space?

This is one of the LOST DirtyWHOers Episodes, no longer available for streaming from iTunes etc., but is available for download from our Dropbox archive HERE.

Wow, how you managed to turn our drunken 90 minute argument into a podcast is beyond me. And quite rational sounding. Kudos. You sir are an editing genius!

The three things I didn't like.

1. The mind-meld headbutt - not a very doctorish thing to do IMHO.

2. The football - it reeked of them putting it in because the world cup was on, James Corden was in the show and Matt Smith used to be a professional footballer. I prefer my cricketing doctors and I like my football. Guess this incarnation is a bit 'different'.

I like to think the Doctor is a geek hero, he shouldn't be a footy player.

3. The love solves all resolution - has been used too many times in the new series. Unless thats the point, I have a feeling 'love' will solve whatever problems come up in the finale. RTD did this as well.

Can't we just have decent sci-fi with invasion forces, some decent monsters and a good chunk of 'scientific' solutions. Even pseudo-science would do.

Booze obviously fuels the editing process.

And no disrespect to the august Cyberleader (hello!), but aren't Cybermen not supposed to "get" emotions anyway?

For this amateur WHOer... I can't imagine being able to watch the next show without knowing these dirty bastards will be there to explain it to me next week.

Their ability in using the F-word is poetic. Not since Bukowski have we been given access to such prowess with the English, sorry... British language.

The Dirty WHO'ers are certainly a Royal treasure and perhaps should be locked up in the Royal Vault with the rest of the crown jewels!
Huzzah!

They make me want to go to a very public place and scream "F*#K!"
